System stands
BoxTech, within the BoxTech O2mea work, builds ready stands beside the custom booth: octanorm, roll-up, pop-up, and an internal or external banner. The system strikes faster. It is not a rated building because it is metal, and the hall manual still governs height.
Definition
Octanorm is an aluminium frame with grooves and infill panels. A roll-up is a pole and a graphic that pulls up. A pop-up is a curved frame that folds. Three speeds and three pictures. None of them knows your hall’s height until the manual is read.
A custom booth is joinery or welded metal for a form these parts will not hold. The booth construction page is there. Mixing them produces a render that cannot be assembled in the move-in hours.
When is this service needed?
Repeat shows
The parts return. The print may be replaced and the frame stays.
Short strike hours
A system the crew knows is more honest than a joint invented at night.
A still message
A roll-up is enough. A moving picture goes to the LED page.
The hall height is limited
The manual, not the rendering. A system that exceeds it is refused at the gate.
Where it is used
Exhibition halls
An aisle, power, and hours from the organiser.
A conference lobby
A roll-up or pop-up does not close an exit.
Outside the hall
An external banner is cloth and wind. It is not an indoor octanorm planted in the sun with no fixing.
Not a grandstand
A stand is not a public grandstand. The loads differ.
Parts of the solution
The frame
The system panel size constrains the form. Leaving it is joinery.
The printed face
Print resolution is not LED pitch. No nit value.
Lighting
A spot on the system, or the hall’s light. Heat on the cloth is reviewed.
Storage
Parts are numbered. The crate is part of the booth, not of the aisle.
Engineering considerations
Height
From this hall’s manual for this edition. Not from a previous show.
Stability
A freestanding element needs a base or a weight the person responsible for this erection calculates. No kilogram here.
Power
It is totalled before it is given to the hall. This page gives no ampere.
The aisle
Storage and the door do not steal it. The organiser measures.
A screen if there is one
Pitch and distance from the LED page, not from the roll-up width.
Materials
System aluminium
Not a fire class by itself. The infill panel is what is tested if the manual asks.
Roll-up cloth
It tears in outdoor wind. Indoor is different.
Print
It is replaced. The frame is not reprinted each time if the system is sound.
Related systems
Booth lighting
It does not glare into the aisle. The stage-lighting page is not this spotlight.
A small screen
If the picture must move. Otherwise print is more honest and cooler.
A waiting seat
From the catalogue if the wait is long. The chair is not left in the aisle.
Audio
A point, not an array. The conference-booth discussion is separated there.
Design sequence
- 01
Read the hall height and move-in hours before drawing.
- 02
Choose the system the form can stand on. If it cannot, move to joinery construction.
- 03
Draw storage and the door inside the footprint, not in the aisle.
- 04
Total the power and the lighting. Do not invent an ampere.
- 05
Number the parts on the drawing as they will return to storage.
Delivery sequence
- 01
The floor is laid and the corners are set before the faces.
- 02
Faces are fitted without site cutting except what was allowed.
- 03
Power is tested before the organiser’s inspection.
- 04
Crates leave the aisle before opening.
- 05
Strike reverses the numbers. A system is not broken to save a minute.
Testing
Measure on the footprint
No overhang. The manual refuses the excess at the gate.
Stability under a reasonable push
A freestanding element does not lean into the aisle. The calculation belongs to the responsible person, not a figure here.
Reading the face
From the aisle under hall light, not under the render’s flash.
Commissioning
Match to the manual
Height, power, and aisle. Sign what was built.
The parts list
They return as they left. Shortages are written.
What is not accepted
A render whose height breaks the manual, or a screen with no pitch sheet.
Maintenance
Between shows
A damaged joint is replaced before the next move.
Print
It cracks. It is not stuck over a tired frame and called new.
The store
Dry. Aluminium does not like being twisted under other crates.
Common mistakes
A render with no system joint
It will not assemble in the hours. The joinery page is its place.
Metal means rated
A metal colour is not a fire certificate.
Crates in the aisle
The organiser stops the booth.
A roll-up in open wind
Indoor cloth is not an outdoor banner.
Short comparison
The comparison is a way to choose a path. It is not a product recommendation and it is not a code.
| Path | Fits when | Weakens when |
|---|---|---|
| Octanorm | A small room of panels and a door inside the footprint. | When the form is sculpted. The system will not obey the render. |
| Roll-up or pop-up | A fast message in a lobby with no storage. | When you need seating, a screen, and storage. Move to a richer frame. |
| Custom joinery | The brand form will not stand on a system panel. | When strike is one night and shows are many. The system is cheaper if the form accepts it. |
Discussion ranges
Any number here is a preliminary discussion range from practice or a named reference. Replace it with the project criterion, laboratory data, and on-site measurement.
| Item | What is discussed | Limit of this page |
|---|---|---|
| Manual height | This hall’s limit for this edition. | No metre on the page. The manual writes it. |
| Strike hours | The organiser’s window. The system is chosen because it is often short. | No hour count here. |
| Power | The sum of lighting and screen before declaration. | No ampere here. |
| Panel class | If the manual asks for a report on the infill. | Aluminium alone is not a certificate. |
What this page does not claim
No fire classification, absorption coefficient, sound pressure level, or legal capacity on this page may be copied into a quotation. Those values come from a product test report, a measurement, or the local code adopted for the project.
Questions designers and owners ask
Is octanorm a luxury booth?
It is a fast system. Luxury is a form that may not stand on it. If it will not, joinery, and the construction page.
Is a roll-up a screen?
No. Still cloth. Motion goes to LED.
Who sets the height?
The hall manual, not this page and not the render.
Is the system acoustically isolated?
No. Exhibition panels are not neighbour isolation. Isolation is another page.
Where is the joinery booth?
On booth construction. Here, what strikes as known parts.
