Event platforms
A temporary event is three forms that do not mix: a conference booth with a table, a counted number of seats and a point source; one-night hospitality on a deck that strikes; and an outdoor platform with shade, a floor and a dust-tolerant seat. Fixed and telescopic stands are other pages. Load belongs to the engineer, not to this page.
Definition
A conference booth is a meeting table and two or four seats inside a hall. The sound is a point source because the distance is metres, and power is what the hall allows. It is not a line array.
An outdoor platform is not an air-conditioned room that was moved. Sun, wind and dust change the seat and the cloth. An ES-500 and its relatives, from the stadium sheet, are closer than an upholstered theatre chair. Shade is a structure, not a hoped-for umbrella.
When is this service needed?
One night or a short tournament
What will not strike is not temporary. It is a building without a permit.
Hospitality above a stand that exists
The platform does not replace the stand calculation. The engineer sees the new load.
A meeting corner at a conference
A counted number of seats. The catalogue supplies a hall chair, not a stadium chair.
Outside the building
Wind and fixing. No ballast kilogram from this page.
Where it is used
A stadium on event day
A platform that is lifted. The permanent stand keeps its own page.
A garden or a square
A floor on soil is not a hall floor. Level is measured.
A hotel foyer
The exit is not closed by the platform. The code is the building’s.
Not necessarily a multi-day exhibition booth
That is booth construction. Here, what disappears after the night.
Parts of the solution
A floor
People load is the engineer’s. This page gives no kilonewton.
Shade or a light roof
Wind. The fixing is named, not decor.
A seat fit for dust or for indoors
The catalogue sheet is chosen for the place.
Night power
A cable that does not cut an aisle. Protection comes from the specification.
Engineering considerations
A temporary load is still a load
The engineer responsible for this erection. No safety factor from us.
The exit
The code is not suspended because the event is one night. This page fixes no width.
Sound
A point for the table. An array if the audience is a stand. Do not mix the two questions.
Lighting
Seeing the face, not glaring at the neighbour. The building’s emergency lighting stays.
Strike
A store, a truck, and a window. A platform that stays overnight without permission is a site problem.
Materials
An exposed seat
From a stadium sheet if there is sun. Theatre cloth fails.
Shade cloth
Not necessarily an exhibition banner. Tearing is wind.
A temporary floor
An edge that does not trip. The detail is from the drawing.
Related systems
A point source
For a meeting. The point-source page if the distance grows.
A small screen
The distance of someone sitting on the platform. Indoor or outdoor LED according to the sun.
Light
Not a full theatre rig unless the platform is a stage. The lighting page then.
A stand if one is underneath
The fixed and telescopic pages. Do not load a platform without a review.
Design sequence
- 01
Name the night: a meeting, hospitality, or outdoors.
- 02
Choose the seat from the sheet that matches sun or indoors.
- 03
Draw strike and storage with the floor.
- 04
Send the load to the engineer before the decor.
- 05
Do not close an existing exit.
Delivery sequence
- 01
The floor is levelled and its edges are kept.
- 02
Fixing is built as the responsible person drew it, not as the cloth suggested.
- 03
The cable is covered in the aisle.
- 04
A trial strike before guests arrive if time allows, or a written strike schedule.
- 05
An upholstered seat is not left for an outdoor night.
Testing
The floor edge
No trip in the real lighting.
A seat in sun or dust
The type matches the sheet. Upholstered theatre seating is rejected outdoors.
Sound at the intended seat
Intelligible without an array if it is a table meeting.
Commissioning
The strike window
An hour and a person. Without that the platform stays.
The agreed load
What the engineer signed, not what the picture holds.
What is not accepted
An air-conditioned room with no cooling in the sun, or a theatre chair in the dust.
Maintenance
During the event
The cable and the edge are looked at again, not left until strike.
After strike
The seat is cleaned and stored to its sheet. Exposed foam is not stacked wet.
Reuse
A fixing that bent is replaced. It is not reused as it is because it survived one night.
Common mistakes
A full stand by the name of a platform
Tiers and a crowd are the grandstand pages. Here, a temporary surface.
A theatre seat outdoors
Fabric and foam are not the ES-500 sheet.
An array for a table
A few metres. A point is enough, or the fault is the room, not the box count.
Forgetting strike
The event ends and the building stays occupied.
Short comparison
The comparison is a way to choose a path. It is not a product recommendation and it is not a code.
| Path | Fits when | Weakens when |
|---|---|---|
| A conference booth | A table and a few seats inside a hall. | When the audience is a stand. That is a platform or a hall, not a corner. |
| One-night hospitality | A deck that strikes and a counted group of guests. | When the count calls for a grandstand. Move to those pages. |
| An outdoor platform | Sun, wind, and a stadium-sheet seat. | Inside a cooled foyer. The seat then comes from the hall sheet. |
Discussion ranges
Any number here is a preliminary discussion range from practice or a named reference. Replace it with the project criterion, laboratory data, and on-site measurement.
| Item | What is discussed | Limit of this page |
|---|---|---|
| Load | People and floor, with the engineer responsible for this erection. | No kilonewton and no safety factor on the page. |
| Seat type | A stadium sheet for sun, a hall sheet for indoors. The catalogue separates them. | Theatre cloth is not moved into the dust. |
| Sound | A point for the table. An array for a wide audience. | No SPL here. |
| Strike | A window, a person, and a store. | No imposed hour. The site organiser writes it. |
What this page does not claim
No fire classification, absorption coefficient, sound pressure level, or legal capacity on this page may be copied into a quotation. Those values come from a product test report, a measurement, or the local code adopted for the project.
Questions designers and owners ask
Is the platform a grandstand?
No. If tiers and a crowd appear, the fixed, telescopic and galvanized pages. Here, a surface that is lifted.
Which chair in the sun?
From the stadium sheet in the catalogue, such as the ES-500 family with centres 48–56 cm and a weight of 10 kg, not from an upholstered hall chair.
Is the sound an array?
Not for a table. If a stand fills, the line-array page. Distance decides.
Who calculates wind?
The erection engineer. This page gives neither a speed nor a ballast.
Where is the exhibition booth?
Booth design, construction, and the system stand. This page is what disappears after the event.
