Define the primary use

A hall serving concerts, conferences, exhibitions and banquets equally will be average at all of them. Define one or two primary uses, design for them, then make the rest possible.

Variable acoustics

Retractable acoustic drapes, rotating panels and movable absorbers let you shorten reverberation for speech and lengthen it for music.

Flexible seating

Telescopic seating, stackable chairs and modular platforms convert the room between theatre and flat floor.

Infrastructure

Distributed rigging, power and networks let the platform and screens move with each event.

Key takeaways

  • Set priorities honestly.
  • Variable elements widen use.
  • Infrastructure is the key to flexibility.
