Acoustic isolation
A quiet seat in a loud room is not enough. Isolation is written as performance: what must not pass, not as a panel thickness with no number.

We do not promise an isolation figure that was not calculated on the drawing. The clause asks for a test after installation. A treatment panel is not isolation.
Where a studio panel competes, and where it stops
The market sells light absorbent panels, often recycled plastic fibre, fixed to a studio wall or ceiling to calm echo. That product treats the inside of the room: it can be cut, its fire class is read from the datasheet, and it is not a promise that the next room will not hear. boxtech writes that clause where the problem is reflection, then writes isolation where the problem is a door, a duct, a shared wall or a stand that carries footfall. BoxTech keeps the seat in the equation, because upholstery changes absorption after the panel is fixed. Field isolation sits. Hall panels sit.
The service is wider than a board bought by the piece
A theatre, a stadium, a hotel, a cinema, a school and a broadcast studio are not treated from one catalogue. BoxTech adds isolation for event halls. The seat stays in the calculation, because upholstery changes absorption after the panel is fixed. A test after installation belongs in the study. It is not published here as a certificate.
Types in this section
Each type is a full page: what it is, where it sits in the hall or the bowl, and what the bill of quantities must say before a price is asked.
- 01Wall absorptionSlotted wood or cloth over a cavity. Placed where sound returns to the row, not only where the photograph looks better.Absorption controls what happens inside the room. It is not isolation that stops sound leaving.
- 02Reflective and absorbent ceilingsReflectors over the stage, absorption over the rear. Mixing them kills speech clarity in a university.Reflectors over the source, absorption where sound returns late. Mixing them weakens speech.
- 03Stand isolationA steel stand carries footsteps. The rubber break between beam and base is a clause, not a detail forgotten at install.Footfall and drums travel in steel. The break is drawn. The calculation is signed by the engineer.
- 04Box sealsDoor, double glass, and cable passages without an open hole. Hospitality hears the bowl when it chooses to, not by force.Door, glass and the cable passage. A box hears the ground when it chooses to.
- 05Treatment panelsAn absorbent panel controls reflection inside the room. Isolation stops sound crossing. The market sells the mix as if it were one product.
